Undergraduate Research Assistant
Aidan Ritcey
My name is Aidan Ritcey, I am a third year student at the UofA, studying for an elementary education degree. Prior to that I had spent two years in the faculty of arts majoring in linguistics and minoring in psychology.
My own connection to rural life and agricultural knowledge is fairly limited, composed entirely of the years I’ve lived on an acreage where we maintain an annual variety of vegetables and fruit.
Some hobbies of mine include regular trips to the Rockies and running.
Aidan assisted with interviewing students, transcribing interviews, and conducting classroom observations. He also completed curriculum mapping of the Alberta K-6 Physical Education and Wellness curriculum with the New Humble School's agricultural literacy and charter goals connected to land stewardship and experiential learning.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Brittany Green
I am a fourth year student, studying at the University of Alberta. My major is in Biological Sciences and I minor in Bioinformatics.
My connection to rural life comes from both living in rural areas and primarily an Agriculture internship I did last summer. I spent four months learning how the industry works and what goes into the daily life of our Alberta growers.
Before I came to Edmonton I lived in northern rural Alberta and hope to go back there when I finish my degree.
When I'm not studying, you can find me reading a book, listening to podcasts or spending my time camping when weather and work permit.
Brittany was in the 'background' and completed foundational work to develop this website. From time to time she assisted Aidan with transcribing interviews.
